Caught &
Arranged and Arragend & Caught are two exhibitions with recent photo-works
of ten young photographers from Beijing, Shenzhen, Yangjiang, Shanghai
and elsewhere.
The titles of the exhibitions refer to a discussion about opposing working
methods as reported by Wang Shilong, a photographer from Zhengzhou; when
he worked in the sixties and seventies for the PLA and later for other
governmental institutions debates arose about either catching their subjects
and then arranging or manipulating the results or first arranging or constructing
a scene till the desired effect is reached and can then be caught.
