About Wang Yin Wang Yin - Recent Oil Paintings :

The inspiration for Wang Yin's recent works derives from the decorative and popular Chinese paintings in the restaurants he frequented in the village where he lived for a period of time. He believes that there are thousands of restaurants in China that are decorated with this kind of painting .

Last summer, Wang Yin began to incorporate elements of Chinese folk paintings in his works. He would layer, combine, collage both his personal style and that of Chinese folk art in his new works. Perhaps the biggest change in Wang Yin's work is that he now collaborates with a folk painter from Henan province. Originally, he intended to employ the folk painter's technique and aesthetic as visual resource. But, by inviting the folk painter to actually participate in his works, he found that he was able to express a non-academic pop taste.

In their co-produced art pieces, they worked in an "interactive but non-interfering"
way. Two different aesthetic judgements are expressed on the same canvas.
In the end, two heterogeneous identities are blended into one work, replete with all of
the elements of conflict and harmony inherent in their relationship.
